Inside Cranberry Island Kitchen - Commitment To The Community
At Cranberry Island Kitchen, we are grateful to experience the beauty and community of a Maine Island.
We donate 10% of our profits to charitable organizations, including:
The Island Institute, a community-development organization devoted to preserving the ecology and communities of Maine's Islands. See www.islandinstitute.org.
Doctors Without Borders an international organization bringing direct medical care to the world's most vulnerable populations. See www.doctorswithoutborders.org.
We use the freshest, most natural and least processed ingredients possible. Our organic eggs come from locally raised free range chickens (a happy chicken lays a better egg). We use homemade Mainemade butter, Maine milk with no added antibiotics or hormones and pure unbleached flour. We can taste the difference and we think you will too!
We believe in supporting local farmers and sustainable agriculture. In doing so we try to contribute to the preservation of Maine's communities, environment and rural character; in short what makes our state so special!
